Sudan: Hell on Earth

Which mainstream Western news publication is covering the deadly civil war in Sudan?

Apart from the occasional update article, not a single one.

I am no expert on the region. But I do know that this war has left hundreds of thousands of Sudanese dead. I do know that over half a million children have died in the famine that arose from the war. I do know that over ten million refugees have been displaced and have nowhere to go.

With all of the noise we are subjected to in the West, it is important to make an effort and understand what is going on in the world beyond the Donald Trumps, the Keir Starmers, and the Emmanuel Macrons. This war in Sudan is the West’s doing. It is due to the legacy of colonialism wrought on the country by the British, the Belgians, and the French.

During British rule, the British Empire failed to properly integrate the Southern Sudanese into the new Sudanese government, causing the outbreak of the First Sudanese Civil War during the time Sudan declared independence. Since then, Sudan has suffered twenty coup attempts, countless wars, and general instability which carries on to today.

This war in Sudan today is not something we in the West can brush off. The Western empires are directly responsible for seven decades of instability in the country and the millions left dead.
