Local organizer Hazami Barmada is spearheading an encampment on 400 North Capitol St. NW, the building home to NBC, C-SPAN, and Fox News in the DC area. Named the Gaza Media Accountability Encampment, the goal is to disrupt media broadcasts until these news channels begin to cover Gaza without bias.
I went to the encampment the night of Friday, August 8th. There I saw dozens of people banging pots and pans, dozens of megaphone sirens going off, and people with whistles creating more than enough noise to be heard during any recording in those studios.

As the encampment begins its third week, the organizers and protestors involved continue to put pressure on these media organizations to cave to their demands. The five demands are:
- Tell the Truth Clearly and Without Euphemism
- Report the Full Humanitarian Picture
- Amplify Palestinian Voices
- Reject Donor and Lobbyist Pressure
- Stop False Equivalence and Moral Ambiguity
