Stand up for the people of Gaza. Be there.
The Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) has called for an International Day of Action on October 4th, marking two years since the genocide in Gaza began.
In the Washington DC area, the DMV chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement will be responding to this call by protesting near the Capitol Building, on Independence Ave & New Jersey Ave. Once again, PYM is demanding a total arms embargo and sanctions against Israel in the wake of hundreds of Palestinians murdered by Israel since October 2023.
This action is being sponsored by Maryland 2 Palestine, the DMV Students for Justice in Palestine Coalition, Palestinian Feminist Collective, and Muslim American Society DC Youth.
I did not think that we would still be protesting this genocide two years later. I could not fathom this inhuman depravity continuing for over 700 days with no end in sight. It is more important than ever now to flood the streets and escalate for Palestine. Gaza is on the brink of being erased from the map.
PYM writes in their Instagram post: “we will not rest until the genocide is brought to an end, until those who bear responsibility are made to answer for their crimes before an international tribunal, and until Palestine is free.” There is no time to rest until the work is done.
