From NYC to DC: Arrest Netanyahu Protest (9/29/25)

As I turned the corner to Lafayette Park, I immediately saw dozens of Neturei Karta members posed and ready with their signs to protest President Trump’s reception of Israeli Prime Minister and war criminal at large Benjamin Netanyahu.

A few men in MAGA hats debated – or yelled at – a man in a wheelchair who was protesting for Palestinian human rights.

I could tell already that the energy today was going to be spectacular.

The Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM) called for a rally in front of the White House on September 29th to “welcome” Netanyahu to DC, where the Israeli Prime Minister was to meet with President Trump to discuss the future of the Gaza genocide. What resulted from this meeting was a 21 point ceasefire proposal so unreasonable many believe it was designed to be rejected outright.

Angry and disgusted by two years of genocide, a crowd of 300-400 people gathered outside the gated Lafayette Park next to the White House, each one of them including myself wanting to confront the unspeakable evil Netanyahu is and represents.

After the speakers, which included members from the Palestinian Youth Movement, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, American Muslims for Palestine, and the Black Alliance for Peace, we began to march through the streets to where Netanyahu was staying.

Knowing that he was there, our chants only got louder and longer as the night went on. I felt the crowd’s fiery passion as we made it very clear – Netanyahu’s evil deeds will not go unpunished.

Though I’m sure many crowd members could have stayed out chanting all night, eventually PYM called the rally. I don’t think any of us were expecting to be out that late.

PYM made sure to remind us that there will be another protest this Saturday, October 4th in front of Congress (Independence Ave & New Jersey Ave) to demand an arms embargo against Israel and an immediate end to this genocide. I will be there, and I hope to see you there as well.
